Summerset Marine Construction, LLC ("we," "us," or "our") operates the Lifetime Lifts mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the App to control and monitor your boat lift system.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect:

• Email address — used for login and account recovery
• Display name — shown to other users of your lift (e.g., guests)
• Address (optional) — used to identify your lift's installation location

You may also sign in with Google, in which case we receive your name and email from Google. You may use the App as a guest without creating an account, with limited functionality.

Lift Telemetry Data

When your lift is connected via Bluetooth or WiFi, the App collects operational data from the lift's control system, including:

Bluetooth & Location

The App uses Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) to communicate with your lift. On Android and iOS, the operating system requires location permission to scan for BLE devices. We do not store or transmit your GPS location. Location permission is used solely for the BLE connection.

Push Notification Tokens

If you enable push notifications, we store a device token provided by Firebase Cloud Messaging. This token is used only to send you lift-related alerts (e.g., non-owner usage, low battery, admin messages).

Service & Maintenance Records

Authorized service technicians may log service visits and maintenance notes through the App. These records are associated with the lift, not with your personal account.

2. How We Use Your Information

• Operate your lift — send commands, display status, and manage access control
• Monitor lift health — track battery condition, fault history, and usage patterns
• Deliver firmware updates — determine update eligibility and deliver over-the-air updates
• Send notifications — alert you to important events (usage by others, low battery, faults)
• Provide customer support — our service team uses telemetry data to diagnose issues
• Improve our products — aggregate, anonymized usage data helps us improve lift designs

3. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored in Google Firebase (Firestore and Realtime Database), hosted on Google Cloud infrastructure. Data is encrypted in transit (TLS/HTTPS) and at rest.

Access to lift data is protected by Firebase Authentication and server-side security rules. Only authenticated users with appropriate permissions can read or modify lift data. Administrative access is restricted to authorized Summerset Marine personnel.

4. Data Sharing

We may share data in the following limited circumstances:

• Service providers: Google Firebase (infrastructure), which processes data under its own privacy policy
• Authorized dealers: Service technicians with dealer access can view lift telemetry for maintenance and support purposes
• Legal requirements: If required by law, regulation, or legal process

5. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Lift telemetry and history data is retained indefinitely to support long-term maintenance tracking and warranty claims.

If you delete your account, your personal profile is permanently removed. Lift telemetry data (cycle counts, battery history, fault logs) is retained as part of the lift's service record but is no longer associated with your identity.

6. Your Rights & Choices

• Account deletion: You can permanently delete your account from the App's Account Settings screen. This releases ownership of all your lifts and removes your personal data from our systems.
• Notification preferences: You can enable or disable push notifications from within the App.
• Guest mode: You can use the App without creating an account. Guest users have limited functionality and no personal data is stored.
• Data access: You can view all data associated with your lift through the App's telemetry and history screens.

7. Children's Privacy

The App is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected such information, we will take steps to delete it promptly.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
